Waikato District Libraries Matariki contest

Beanstack

Ngaa mihi o Matariki, te tau hou Maaori!

Waikato District Libraries are celebrating Matariki with our annual Matariki Online Competition!

This year we are challenging you to write a Matariki poem, and/or design a T-shirt that reflects what Matariki means to you.

There are three age divisions for each competition - 0-9, 10-17, and 18+ - so the whole whaanau can join in!

There are loads of amazing prizes up for grabs!

The winning prize for each age group and category is a $100 gift voucher. T-shirt design winners will also receive a T-shirt printed with their design.

Every school/education provider that has students who enter the competition will go into the draw to win $300 worth of books

The supreme award winner for all age groups will also receive a $50 gift voucher and the supreme award trophy.

To enter, email your entry and entry form to librarycomp@waidc.govt.nz or pop into the library and we can do that for you.

Entries close at 5PM on Friday 24 June. Winners announced Wednesday 6th July in our Libraries Facebook group.

Download your entry form here, or pick one up from your nearest Waikato District Library.

This competition is open to all Waikato District residents, ratepayers, and students of schools/education providers located within Waikato District.
